Rod holdalls, rucksacks and lure bags for predator fishing. A day chasing pike or perch usually means walking a bank and fishing several spots, so gear that carries well matters more than gear that holds everything.

Travelling Between Swims

The best predator setup is the one you’re willing to pick up and move with, because covering water is how you find fish. A rucksack with your traces, tools, a couple of lure boxes and a flask, plus a rod sleeve, will see you through most days. Look for tough fabric and decent zips, since deadbait juice and wet nets are hard on a bag. Keep a separate dry bag for your unhooking tools so they’re not at the bottom under everything else when you need them in a hurry.
