Fishing Metals

Metals are brilliant for covering water quickly when you’re trying to find fish. Fast retrieve near the surface for mackerel, a slower sink-and-lift for bass and pollack sat deeper down, and don’t be afraid to let one drop right to the bottom and rip it up through the water — that’s often when it gets hit. They cast a long way in a headwind too, which makes them a go-to when the weather stops a lighter lure working properly. Worth upgrading the hooks on the cheaper ones before you fish them in anger.
