Travelling Light

The best setup is usually the smallest one you can get away with. A chest or sling pack holding a couple of lure boxes, some leader, pliers and a drink covers most short evening sessions and keeps you mobile enough to fish three or four marks in a night. Save the rucksack for the longer days or when you’re carrying waders and waterproofs. Look for decent zips and salt-resistant fittings, because sea air finds the weak point in cheap luggage very quickly.
