Choosing Braid And Leader

For most bass fishing around here something in the 15lb to 20lb bracket does the job nicely, with a couple of rod lengths of fluorocarbon leader on the end to take the abuse from rocks and give you a bit of forgiveness at the net. Light lrf outfits run far lighter, often 8lb or under. Whatever you pick, wind it on under tension, keep an eye on the last few yards for wear and cut back anything that’s felt the rocks — it’s a cheap job compared with losing a good fish and your lure with it.
