Starting Fly Fishing

A balanced outfit matters more in fly fishing than in any other kind of angling, because the line weight, the rod and the reel all have to suit each other before casting makes any sense at all. A combo does that for you, and the ones we stock will handle stillwater trout perfectly well while you learn. Add a leader, some tippet and a handful of flies and you’re fishing. Come in and we’ll talk you through the first casts — it’s far easier shown than written down.
