Brollies, side-and-back shelters and umbrellas for the bank. Enough cover to keep you and your gear dry through a shower without turning a day session into a camping trip.

Staying Dry On The Bank

A brolly with a decent spread keeps rain off you, your bait and your tackle box, which matters more than people think — wet groundbait and a soaked box of hooks spoil a day quickly. Peg it down properly and angle it into the wind, since a gust under an unpegged brolly will have it in the lake. Shelters with a zip-on side are worth the extra for winter, turning a cold, exposed peg into somewhere you can happily sit out a few hours. Dry it before it goes in the shed.
