Getting It All To The Peg

A holdall with individual rod sleeves saves your tips, which is where most rods get broken — nearly always in transit rather than playing a fish. A carryall with a few compartments keeps bait, tackle boxes and flasks separate, and a cool bag section is worth having in summer. If you fish waters with a long walk in, look hard at the weight of what you’re carrying before you buy the biggest bag available, because you will fill it. Dry everything out after a wet session before it goes back in the shed.
