Fishing Into Dark

The best of a summer’s day coarse fishing is often the last hour of light, and a decent headtorch means you can fish it out properly and still pack up without losing half your gear in the grass. A red mode preserves your night vision and is far kinder to everyone else on the lake. If you’re fishing into dark for tench or bream, an isotope or a clip-on tip light makes bite detection much easier. Keep a spare set of batteries in the tackle box.
