Spotting Fish In The Margins

Being able to see into the water changes how you fish. Cruising fish, clear spots among the weed, bubbles over a feeding area and the edge of a gravel bar all become visible once the glare is gone, and that tells you where to put a bait far better than guesswork. Amber and copper lenses lift contrast on dull days, grey lenses suit bright sun. Make sure they’re genuinely polarised, and get a case — they always end up in the bottom of the rucksack under the leads.
