Here at Brighton Angling we get so many questions about boat fishing, the first thing we really need to know is where you are fishing and what are you fishing for. The most important thing is to work out how much lead weight you will be fishing. for example if you are inshore fishing for place, a spinning rod can be the perfect choice, but if you are on a charter boat, fishing 8 miles out of Brighton, you are likely to need braided line and heavier weights, so you need a rod to be able to cope with this.
The introduction of the long soft tip boat rods, from the likes of Tubertini and Artico have really been a game and now a mainstay of the international scene.
The Tubertini Nauteck for instance is a powerful rod but has incredible sensitivity, ideal for a range of general fishing.
