Storage That Survives Salt

Look for solid catches and, ideally, a seal — salt spray gets into everything and will rust a box of hooks in a single trip. Rig wallets that hold made-up traces flat and tangle-free are especially useful afloat, where there’s no room to be sorting out a bird’s nest of hooklengths. Keep your boxes in a holdall rather than loose on the deck, and give everything a wipe and a dry-out at home so your gear lasts more than a season.
